Who We Are

NJ BARKER (“us”, “we”, or “our”) operates the NJ BARKER website (the “Service”).

This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use and disclosure of Personal Information when you use our Service.

We will not use or share your information with anyone except as described in this Privacy Policy.

We use your Personal Information for providing and improving the Service. By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. Unless otherwise defined in this Privacy Policy, terms used in this Privacy Policy have the same meanings as in our Terms and Conditions, accessible at https://njbarker.com

Information Collection And Use

While using our Service, we may ask you to provide us with certain personally identifiable information that can be used to contact or identify you. Personally identifiable information (“Personal Information”) may include, but is not limited to:

  • Name
  • Email address

When filling out a form on the site, you may be asked to provide your contact information. This personal information will only be used by the author to contact you as per your request and it will not be transferred, sold, or provided to any other party unless required by law. You have the right to not provide your contact information, but by declining you may not be able to submit the contact form or use the services or features offered on this site. This information is stored in our database on our server indefinitely (or until manually deleted).

If you subscribe to the author’s newsletter, your email address will be saved on MailerLite’s secure servers. We will only email you to send you news about the author’s latest publications and/or to offer free, discounted, or newly released books from other authors you may enjoy. We do not share our newsletter subscriber list with other authors or marketing firms. Email information collected when you subscribed to the author’s newsletter will remain on MailerLite’s server indefinitely, so that your subscription preferences (including date when you subscribed and unsubscribed, etc.) can be recorded.

If you leave comments on this site, you can request to have these comments deleted at any time by contacting the author here.

Log Data

We collect information that your browser sends whenever you visit our Service (“Log Data”). This Log Data may include information such as your computer’s Internet Protocol (“IP”) address, browser type, browser version, the pages of our Service that you visit, the time and date of your visit, the time spent on those pages and other statistics.

Cookies

Cookies are files with small amount of data, which may include an anonymous unique identifier. Cookies are sent to your browser from a web site and stored on your computer’s hard drive.

We use “cookies” to collect information. You can instruct your browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent. However, if you do not accept cookies, you may not be able to use some portions of our Service.

This website uses cookies from Facebook.com, Google.com, various affiliate links, and our own domain name to keep track of the following things:

Facebook Pixel

A Facebook pixel appears on every page of this site to help us determine a marketing audience and to track the success of Facebook advertising campaigns. Email addresses collected by the author can, at times, be uploaded collectively to Facebook in order for its algorithms to create a “look-alike” group of similar Facebook users who may also be interested in the author’s books. Individual email addresses are not used to target individual users on Facebook. The creation of “look-alike audiences” is a common practice used by Facebook advertisers when trying to expand their organic reach. It does not give Facebook the right to contact you using the email addresses that were uploaded.

Google reCAPTCHA

We use Google reCAPTCHA v3 and v2 to protect our site from spam and abuse, including in contact forms, login pages, and blog comments. reCAPTCHA collects hardware and software information (such as device and browser data) and sends it to Google for security analysis. This data is used solely to improve reCAPTCHA and maintain site security — it is not used for personalized advertising. Use of reCAPTCHA is subject to Google’s Privacy Policy and Terms of Use.

Audiobook Samples

Our site may include embedded audiobook samples provided by third-party services such as YouTube, Spotify, SoundCloud, or Apple Books. These players are loaded only after you choose to interact with them. When activated, they may set cookies or collect usage data in accordance with the respective provider’s privacy policies. These cookies are used for media playback and localization, not for advertising. No third-party media content is loaded unless you actively choose to play it.

Koko Analytics

This website uses Koko Analytics to gather anonymous statistics about visitor behavior, such as which pages are viewed and how visitors navigate the site. Koko Analytics does not use any third-party services or track users across sites. It sets a single, optional cookie (koko_analytics_pages_viewed) to distinguish returning visitors, which does not contain any personal data. Visitors can choose to disable this cookie through their browser settings or opt-out link, and their visit will still be counted anonymously.

Affiliate Links

The site may contain affiliate links for companies we use, trust, and recommend, such as Amazon, Apple Books, Kobo, and other book sellers. If you click on one of these affiliate links, a cookie will be placed on your computer and, should you make a purchase on that third-party website, the author will be paid a small commission. You will not pay a penny more by going through these links. These affiliate links are carefully selected based on our experience with these service providers, and the small commission earned helps to cover the costs associated with this website and other advertising costs.

Clearing Cookies

Read how to clear your cookies here.

Service Providers

We may employ third party companies and individuals to facilitate our Service, to provide the Service on our behalf, to perform Service-related services or to assist us in analyzing how our Service is used.

These third parties have access to your Personal Information only to perform these tasks on our behalf and are obligated not to disclose or use it for any other purpose.

Security

The security of your Personal Information is important to us, but remember that no method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your Personal Information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

Links To Other Sites

Our Service may contain links to other sites that are not operated by us. If you click on a third party link, you will be directed to that third party’s site. We strongly advise you to review the Privacy Policy of every site you visit.

We have no control over, and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies or practices of any third party sites or services.

Children’s Privacy

Our Service does not address anyone under the age of 18 (“Children”).

We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 18. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with Personal Information, please contact us. If we discover that a child under 18 has provided us with Personal Information, we will delete such information from our servers immediately.

Compliance With Laws

We will disclose your Personal Information where required to do so by law or subpoena.

Changes To This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page.

You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes. Changes to this Privacy Policy are effective when they are posted on this page.
